According to Vref's Q3 2022 Market Trends Report, used commercial aircraft values remain strong, although there is some evidence that the seller's market may change. Vref said these strong valuations continued despite fears of inflation and recession.
What's Involved In An Aircraft Appraisal?
The report states that the summer slowdown did not affect prices for most aircraft models and that "buyer appetite for business jets remains at levels not seen in years." Turboprop and business jet stocks are up while averages are low, with 3 to 4 percent of the fleet in service. However, these averages are between 1 and 2 percentage points compared to the end of last year. The report said business jet valuations continued to rise, with Cessna Citation values increasing between 2 and 20 percent in the second quarter, for example.
